Plumber Serving Sacramento County
From city neighborhoods to rural ranch properties, one local team for the whole county
Sacramento County is a lot more than the city of Sacramento. Hundreds of thousands of residents live in unincorporated communities such as Arden-Arcade, Carmichael, Fair Oaks, Orangevale, Antelope, North Highlands, Rio Linda and Elverta. Farther out, the county turns rural, with farms, Delta towns and homes on private wells and septic systems.
2 Brothers Plumbing is based in Elk Grove and serves the whole county, plus communities about 50 miles out. We’ve been in the trades since 1988 and in business as 2 Brothers Plumbing since 2017. That range of experience matters here. A ranch home near Wilton needs a very different plumber than a midcentury house in Carmichael.
Wherever you are in the county, you get the same thing: a free estimate on site, a real price and work that’s done right the first time. Call (916) 997-6370 and tell us where you are.

Plumbing services in Sacramento County
Across Sacramento County, plumbing needs split into two groups. Suburban homes deal with aging water heaters, hard water, sewer laterals and leaks. Rural homes add septic tanks, leach fields, well pumps and water quality to the list. We handle both, and we’re comfortable moving between a city sewer lateral in the morning and a leach field in the afternoon. Here are the services we provide most across the county:
Septic Tank Pumping
Rural properties near Wilton, Galt and the Delta rely on septic. Regular pumping prevents backups and protects your leach field, which is the most expensive part of the system to replace.
Septic System Installation
When a tank or leach field has failed, we handle replacement and new installs, including the lines from the tank to the field. We also handle system upgrades when a home is remodeled or expanded.
Well Pump Repair
No water, low pressure or a pump that runs nonstop? We repair well pumps, pressure tanks and controls on rural properties.
Whole-House Water Filtration
Well water and hard municipal water both benefit from filtration. We help you choose whole-house water filtration that fits your water and your home, so every tap delivers cleaner water.
Water Treatment
From softeners to targeted treatment, we help county homeowners deal with scale, odor and staining on fixtures and laundry.
Sewer Line Repair
Many county suburbs have homes built in the 1950s through 1970s, and their original sewer lines are reaching their limit. We inspect, repair or replace them.
Water Heaters
We repair and install tank, tankless and heat pump water heaters anywhere in the county. We’re a certified installer for Navien and Bradford White.
Gas Lines
Rural and suburban homes alike add gas appliances, shops and outdoor kitchens. We install new gas lines, run gas mains and repair leaks safely.
Commercial Plumbing
We serve businesses, shops and farm buildings across the county with the same care we bring to homes, from service calls to new construction plumbing.
Emergency Plumbing
A failed well pump or septic backup can’t wait, and neither can a burst pipe in a suburban home. We take emergency calls every day, Sundays included.
Our step-by-step process
Covering a whole county means we see every kind of plumbing system there is. The systems change from place to place, but the way we treat you doesn’t. You get a free estimate, a clear explanation and your approval before any work. Our process stays the same whether you’re in a Carmichael ranch house, a newer home in Vineyard or a farmhouse outside Galt. Here’s what to expect.
- 1
You call, we come out
Call us Monday through Saturday, 7am to 7pm, or any day for an emergency. Tell us where you are and what’s happening. For rural properties, it helps to know whether you’re on a well and septic system, and roughly where the tank and well are. If you don’t know, that’s fine. Finding buried lids and tracing lines is part of what we do.
- 2
A free on-site estimate
We diagnose the problem at your property, not over the phone. On a septic call, that may mean locating a buried lid and checking the tank level. On a well, we test the pump, pressure tank and switch. In a suburban home, we check the fixtures, drains and water heater tied to the complaint. Then you get a real price for the job, with no bait pricing. If you’re replacing a water heater, our guide to tank vs. tankless water heaters in the Sacramento area explains the choice in plain terms.
- 3
You decide
We lay out your options and explain the tradeoffs. You might choose regular septic tank pumping now and plan for a larger repair later, or replace a failing well pump before it quits for good. Nothing starts until you approve, and you can qualify for financing from your estimate. We never pressure you into work you don’t need.
- 4
We do the work
Our team does the repair or install with the right equipment for the job. On rural properties, we take care around livestock, gardens and outbuildings. In tighter suburban yards, we keep our footprint small and clean up as we go. Either way, we keep you informed and check in before making any change to the plan.
- 5
We test everything
We run water, check pressure, run drains and confirm there are no leaks. After well pump repair, we watch the system cycle to make sure the pump starts and stops the way it should. After septic work, we make sure everything drains properly.
- 6
We close you out
We explain what we did and how to care for your system, such as how often a septic tank in your household’s situation should be pumped. All our work is guaranteed, and most new installs carry a one-year warranty on leaks and labor. Repairs to existing equipment carry a limited warranty, and extended warranties are available.

Why We Love Working in Sacramento County, CA
Sacramento County covers city streets, river towns, foothill suburbs and open farmland, and we get to work in all of them. A few of the county places we love:
- American River Parkway. About 32 miles of trails and parks along the American River, running through the county from Discovery Park to the foothills. It ties together communities like Carmichael, Fair Oaks and Rancho Cordova.
- Gibson Ranch Regional Park. A former ranch in Elverta with a lake, an equestrian center and picnic areas. It’s a good picture of the county’s rural north side.
- Locke Historic District. Built in 1915 by Chinese immigrants along the Sacramento River in the Delta, Locke is a National Historic Landmark and one of the most intact rural Chinese-American towns in the country.
- Cosumnes River Preserve. Tens of thousands of acres of wetlands and valley oak forest in the south county, near Galt and south of Elk Grove.
What we like most about working across Sacramento County is the variety. On Monday we might replace a corroded water line in a 1960s Arden-Arcade home. On Tuesday we could be pumping a septic tank on a ranch property, and on Wednesday fixing a well pump for a family whose water just stopped. Each job asks for different knowledge, and our team has spent decades building it. The county’s mix also means a lot of homeowners aren’t sure who to call. Many people don’t realize plumbers handle gas lines, septic and wells as well as faucets and drains. We do all of it, and we’re glad to be the one number you keep on the fridge. We take emergency calls every day, Sundays included.
Reviews from our neighbors
Such a great experience with Carl. We had a gas leak that needed to be addressed. He knew the issue right away and was able to fix it promptly and for a fair price.

Plumbing questions from Sacramento County
Do you serve unincorporated areas of Sacramento County?
Yes. We work in unincorporated communities across the county, including Arden-Arcade, Carmichael, Fair Oaks, Orangevale, Antelope, North Highlands, Rio Linda and Elverta, along with rural areas and the Delta. Whether your home is in a city or not, the service and pricing are the same.
How often should a septic tank be pumped?
Most household tanks need pumping every few years, but it depends on the tank size and how many people live in the home. We check the level when we pump and give you a recommendation for your household. Waiting too long lets solids reach the leach field, which is far more expensive to fix than a routine pumping.
My well pump keeps turning on and off. Is that a problem?
Yes, it usually is. Rapid cycling often points to a failing pressure tank or a bad pressure switch, and it wears out the pump. Have it checked before the pump fails completely. Replacing a pressure tank or switch now usually costs much less than replacing a burned-out pump later.
Can you help if I don’t know where my septic tank is?
Yes. Many rural homeowners don’t know where their tank or lid is, especially after buying a property. We locate the tank, uncover the lid and can add a riser so it’s easier to reach next time.
How far out from Elk Grove do you travel?
We serve all of Sacramento County and communities about 50 miles out, including parts of Yolo County like West Sacramento and Woodland. If you’re not sure we cover your address, just call and ask. We’ll tell you honestly, and if a job is a little farther out, we’ll still do our best to get there.
